Son of Robert Brown, 6, Fulton Place, Derry.

Private Brown was employed at Watt's Distillery before enlisting, and joined the service in 1914.

On the fourth anniversary of his death, his father, brothers, and sisters had the following in memoriam lines placed in a Derry newspaper:

'In far foreign fields from Derry Columbcille

Lie soldiers and chiefs of the Irish Brigade.'
