Name recorded on the Chatham Naval Memorial. Name also commemorated on the Diamond War Memorial.

Second son of Mr George Roulston Cargill and Emma Cargill, and brother of Jane V. Cargill, 16, Moore Street, Waterside, Londonderry.

George Roulston Cargill was possibly a member of Clooney Hall Methodist Church.

Stoker Cargill took part in the naval operations in connection with the landing at Gallipoli. At time of death he had a brother on active service in France. On the first anniversary of his death, his family had the following tribute placed in a Londonderry newspaper:

'A face still loved, so sadly missed,

His smile that was so bright;

He was so thoughtful, good, and kind,

Time cannot blot him from our mind.'
