Gunner Gallagher served with the colours for twelve years, ten of which were spent in India. He left Londonderry for Paisley, where he was a tramway driver up till the commencement of the war, when he answered the call of duty. He was stationed in Ireland for a period, and was only two months at the Front. In addition to a widow, he left behind three children.
